If I Only Knew...

If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord your soul to keep.
If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you walk out of the door,
I would hug you and kiss you and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time I heard your name lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word, so I could play it back for days.
If I knew it would be the last time to spare an extra minute or two,
I'd stop and say "I love you," instead of assuming that you know I do.

If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day,
Well, I'm sure you'll have many more, so, I'll let this one slip away.
For surely there is tomorrow to make up for an oversight,
And we'll always get a second chance to make everything all right.

There will be another chance to say our "I love you's,"
And certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do's "
But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you and hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike, and today
Might be your last chance to hold your loved one tight.
So if your'e waiting for tomorrow, why not do it all today?
For if tomorrow never comes,You will surely regret the day,

That you didn't take the extra time for a smile, hug or kiss.
And your'e surely too busy to grant someone, what turned out to be their last wish.
So hold your loved ones close today and whisper in their ear.
Tell them how much you love them and that you'll always hold them dear.

Take the time to say "I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you or It's Ok,"
And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today.
Apologize and start anew, and tell the one who loves you, that you love them too!
Pass it along to all your friends and be sure to send it to the person
That took the time to send it to you,
Because you never know when this day will be your last.

YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW

Thank you Cherrise for sending me this piece

There are two days in every week
about which we should not worry,
Two days which should be kept free
from fear and apprehension.

One of these days is "Yesterday"
with its mistakes and cares,
its faults and blunders,
its aches and pains.

Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control.
All the money in the world cannot bring back Yesterday.
We cannot undo a single act we performed;
we cannot erase a single word we said.

Yesterday is gone.
The other day we should not worry about is "Tomorrow"
with its possible adversities, its burdens,
its large promise and poor performance.

Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control.
Tomorrow's sun will rise, either in splendor or
behind a mask of clouds, but it will rise.
Until it does, we have no stake in Tomorrow,

for it is yet unborn.
This leaves only one day, "Today",
and anyone can fight the battles of just one day.
It is only when you and I add the burden of those awful eternities,

Yesterday, and Tomorrow, that we break down.
It is not the experience of Today that drives people mad,
it is the remorse or bitterness for something
which happened Yesterday and the dread of what Tomorrow may bring.

Let us, therefore, live but one day at a time

Ps 118:24

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Mary Had A Little Lamb

This poem was sent to me from my friend Mary Ann~

Mary had a little Lamb,
His fleece was white as snow.

And everywhere that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.

He followed her to school each day,
When it wasn't against the rules.

He made the children laugh and play
To have the Lamb at school.

Then the rules changed one day,
Against the law it became.

To bring the Lamb of God to school
Or even speak His name.

Every day got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.

Instead of hearing children laugh and play,
You heard them crying tears.

What must we do to stop the crime,
That's in our schools today?

Let the Lamb come back to school
And teach our kids to pray.

"UNTITLED"

If all of life were sunshine,
If none of life were gray,

We could not understand the joy
Of shadows passed away.

If all of life were laughter,
If none of life were tears,

We could not understand the peace
That comes with banished fears.

God often uses sorrow
To teach us of his grace,

But when the troubles disappear
We see his smiling face.

Fret not against the heartaches,
His purpose they fulfill,

For when he heals the broken life
He shapes it to his will.

"One Little Rose"

I would rather have one little rose
From the garden of a friend
Than to have the choicest flowers
When my stay on earth must end.

I would rather have one pleasant word
In kindness said to me
Than flattery when my heart is still
And life has ceased to be.

I would rather have a loving smile
From friends I know are true
Than tears shed round my casket
When this world I've bid adieu.

Bring me all your flowers today
Whether pink, or white, or red;
I'd rather have one blossom now
Than a truckload when I'm dead.

THE LORD'S PRAYER

I can not pray "OUR" if my faith has no room for others and their need.

I can not pray "FATHER" if I do not demonstrate this relationship to God in my daily living.

I can not pray "WHO ART IN HEAVEN" if all my interests and pursuits are in earthly things.

I can not pray "HALLOWED BE THY NAME" if I am not striving for God's help to be holy.

I can not pray "THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE" if I am unwilling to do God's will in my life.

I can not pray "ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN" unless I am truly ready to be obedient to God's service here and now.

I can not pray "GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD" without expending honest effort for it, or if I would withhold from my neighbor the bread I receive.

I can not pray "FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US" if I continue to harbor a grudge against anyone.

I can not pray "LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION" if I deliberately choose to remain in a situation where I am likely to be tempted.

I can not pray "DELIVER US FROM EVIL" if I am not prepared to fight with my life and my prayer.

I can not pray "FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM" if I am unwilling to obey the King.

I can not pray "THINE IS THE POWER AND THE GLORY" if I am seeking power for myself and my own glory first.

I can not pray "FOREVER AND EVER" if I am too anxious about each day's affairs.

I can not pray "AMEN" unless I honestly say "Not MY will, but THY will be done." So let it be.

"THE POEM"

I Knelt To Pray But Not For Long

I Had Too Much To Do
I Had To Hurry And Get To Work

For Bills Would Soon Be Due
So I Knelt And Said A Hurried Prayer

And Jumped Up Off My Knees
My Christian Duty Was Now Done

My Soul Could Rest At Ease

All Day Long I Had no Time
To Spread A Word Of Cheer

No Time To Speak Of Christ To Friends

They'd Laugh At Me I'd Fear
No Time, No Time Too Much To Do

That Was My Constant Cry
No Time To Give To Souls In Need

But At Last The Time To Die

I Went Before The Lord
I Came, I Stood With Downcast Eyes

For In His Hands God Held A Book

It Was The Book Of Life
God Looked Into His Book And Said

Your Name I Cannot Find
I Once Was Going To Write It Down...

But Never Found The Time!

MORNING IS NEAR!

If I can endure for a moment
Whatever is happening to me,
No matter how heavy my heart is
Or how dark the moment may be,

If I can remain calm and quiet
With all my world crashing about me
Secure in the knowledge God loves me
When everyone else seems to doubt me,

If I can but keep on believing
Whatever I know in my heart to be true,
That darkness will fade with the morning
And that this will pass away too,

Then nothing in life can defeat me
For as long as this knowledge remains.
I can suffer whatever is happening
For I know God will break all the chains

That are binding me tight in the darkness,
And trying to kill me with fear,
For there is no night without dawning,
And I know that my morning is near.

"For His anger endureth but a moment; In his favor is life!
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."

"Untitled"

May the mind of Christ, my Saviour,
Live in me from day to day,
By his love and power, controlling,
All I do and say

May the word of God dwell richly,
In my heart from hour to hour,
So that all may see I triumph,
Only through his power

May the peace of God, my father
Rule my life in everything,
That I may be calm to comfort
Sick and sorrowing.

May the love of Jesus fill me
As the waters fill the sea,
Him exalting self-abasing,
This is victory!

Ephesians 3:14-21   Philippians 2:5-13

"CHOSEN VESSEL"

The Master was searching for a vessel to use;
On the shelf there were many, which one would He choose?

"Take me, cried the gold one I'm shiny and bright,
I'm of great value and I do things just right.

My beauty and luster will outshine the rest
And for someone like you, Master, gold would be the best!"

The Master passed on with no word at all;
He looked at a silver urn, narrow and tall;

"I'll serve you, dear Master, I'll pour out your wine
And I'll be at your table whenever you dine,

My lines are so graceful, my carvings so true,
And my silver will always compliment you."

Unheeding the Master passed on to the brass,
It was wide mouthed and shallow, and polished like glass.

"Here! Here!"cried the vessel, I know I will do.
Place me on your table for all men to view."

"Look at me", called the goblet of crystal so clear.
"My transparency shows my contents so dear,

Though fragile am I, I will serve you with pride,
And I'm sure I'll be happy in your home to abide."

The Master came next to a vessel of wood,
Polished and carved, it solidly stood.

"You may use me, dear Master", the wooden bowl said.
"But I'd rather you used me for fruit, not for bread!"

Then the Master looked down and saw a vessel of clay,
Empty and broken it helplessly lay.

No hope had the vessel, that the master might choose,
To cleanse and make whole, to fill and to use.

"Ah! This is the vessel I've been hoping to find,
I will mend, and use it, and make it all mine.

I need not the vessel with pride of itself;
Nor the one who is narrow to sit on the shelf;

Nor the one who is big mouthed, and shallow and loud;
Nor one who displays, his contents so proud;

Nor the one who thinks, he can do all things just right;
But this plain earthy vessel, filled with my power and might

Then gently He lifted the vessel of clay.
Mended, and cleansed, it and filled it that day.

Spoke to it kindly, "There's work you must do.
Just pour out to others as I pour into you."

My daughter sent me a very pretty wall hanging, with these beautiful words on it for Mother's Day 1993 while she was away at college. It meant a lot to me.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness Tanya. I love you very much.

MOTHER

Like whispering grains of sand blowing in the wind,
Your gentle ways have guided me,
Through all the fears and grins.
Our walks and talks and lots of hugs,

Have taught me truth and wisdom,
As well as firmly reined in hugs,
That saved me from temptations.
The bustles and burdens of each day,

Made each moment precious,
When I could cuddle in your arms,
And tell you all my wishes.
Though many years have come and gone,

Sweet lullabies, and storybooks still echo in my dreams,
Please know how much I love you Mom.
For I know that God must see what perfection,
He has wrought in choosing you for me.

TRAIN 3:16

We're on a one-track Christian Train,
It's numbered 3:16;
Jesus is the Engineer,
And He runs one "Mean Machine."

He takes it up and down the Hills,
And around the sharpest Curves;
He regulates the Speed just right,
It Never Even Swerves.

He takes this Train through Valleys deep,
As prudently He steers;
We're Blessed He's at the Throttle, Folks,
And is Chief Engineer.

When this Train climbs Mountain peaks,
That nearly touch the Sky ...
He blows its Whistle loud and clear,
No need to Question why.

This Christian Train spans Prairies, too.
And when smoothly gliding cross,
We settle back ... enjoy the view,
Knowing Jesus is the Boss.

Sometimes Stormy Clouds appear
And Fog is all about us;
But Jesus keeps us right on Track,
No reason to Reroute us.

The 3:16's a Local, Folks,
It stops in every Town;
Anyone can Hop on Board,
This Train is Heaven Bound.

Passengers can leave the Train,
Whenever they so Choose;
But why get off the 3:16,
There's just too much to Lose.

So keep your Ticket in your Hand,
Wave to the Engineer;
He'll get You to the Promised Land,
His Destination's Clear!

"CHILDREN"

Where are all the children?
Asleep in their warm beds?

Waiting for the gifts of love,
Promised by those who care?

Dreaming of dolls, trucks, and games,
In every size, and color,

And trees, with glittering lights so bright
You can not distinguish,

Between day or night.
Where are all the children?

Whose beds are made of grass,
Who live in houses without walls,

And the sky is the only roof they have.
Are their dreams about the many pleasures,

Our children have grown to expect?
Or do they cry for food, and want of needs that are met?

Where are all the children?
Whose thoughts are not of toys,

Have we shown them any special love,
In this season of great joy!

These sayings used to be on a wall plaque in my kitchen.

I am adding this to the IF's;

IF.... you "Train up a child in the way he should go....

When he gets old he will not depart from it." Prov22:6

This is a prayer I had hanging on my wall many years ago,
I don't remember what happened to the plaque,
but I remember this prayer brought me such peace.
So I wrote it on cards, and gave it to friends,
and relatives who were moving into a new house or an apartment...
May it bring you peace also!

"A PRAYER FOR MY HOME"

Dear Heavenly Father, each moment of each hour,
Let me feel your presence here in my home,
May your spirit of love, and peace,
dwell within these walls,
Helping me to make this a place,
Where there is always cheerfulness,
Understanding,and kindness.
For that is what I want my home to be.
Keep this home of mine safe from all harm,
And please bless my efforts to Live joyfully,
each day with you beside me!

Amen...

My daughter's friend Ellen saw the prayer above,on my poetry page.
She liked it so much, that she added her own words to it, and made it her very own.
She is a very talented poetess! This is really a very beautiful poem~!
Thank You Ellen~!
Here it is....

"A PRAYER FOR OUR HOME"

Dear Heavenly Father,Each Moment Of Every hour
Let Us Feel Your Presence, And Your Power

May Your Spirit Of Love And Peace,
Dwell Within These Walls And Never Cease,

Grant Us Your Mercy And Your Grace,
And Help Us To Make Our Home A Place,

Where There Is Always Cheerfulness,
Understanding, Kindness, And Forgiveness.

For If I Live In You, And You Live In Me,
This Is What My Home Will Be.

Grant Us A Fresh Annointing, Each And Every Day,
So That We Will Walk In Your Truth, And In Your Way.

We Plead The Blood Of Jesus From The Ceilings To The Floors,
And Throughout Every Room, And Over All The Doors.

So That No Demonic Spirit Can Reside In This Place,
Where We Praise And Pray To Seek Your Face.

Keep Our Home Safe From Hurt, Harm, And Dangers.
From Satan, And Demons, And Unwanted Strangers.

Please Bless Our Efforts To Walk With You,
To Live Joyfully, And Seek You In All That We Do.

With Our Hearts Lifted Up, And While Our Hands We Raise,
We Will Be Careful To Give You All The Praise!

AMEN

THIS BEAUTIFUL POEM WAS WRITTEN BY ELLEN AND HER HUSBAND CLARENCE...

"THE LOST SHEEP"

I was lonely, lost, afraid and unable to withstand
Then along came a man with a rod in his hand.
He spoke not a word as I felt our hearts reconcile,
He gently took my hand and we walked for a little while.

He spoke, "I am your Shepherd and you are my lost sheep"
It was then that I recognized Him and I began to weep.
As He wrapped his arms around me I felt restoration in my soul
From that moment on I knew I was made whole.

He spoke, "You strayed from the path to go your own way,
Heaven is rejoicing for I have found you today.
If you delight yourself in me I'll grant you the desires of your heart
I'll also bless you with wisdom and knowledge to impart."

Immediately, I fell to my knees in holy worship and praise
I repented of my sins with both of my hands upraised.
At that moment he forgave me and spoke a soft "I love you"
"I need you my child, for I have a work for you to do."

I scrambled to my feet and asked, "Work? But how?"
"There's much to do," he answered for Satan's on the prowl,
He's diligently seeking to see whom he may devour.
You'll always have the victory for I have endued you with power.

It's in the Blood, it's in the Word, and also in my Name
Begin to use your power and your life will never be the same."
I looked at my Shepherd as He began to weep
He said, "Like you my child, there are many lost sheep.

Be alert, for they'll be tests and trials along the way,
when you need direction, seek my face, fast and pray."
I looked at His hands as He waved good-bye
The scars from the nail prints caught my eye

Calvary came to mind and how He died for my sins
I want to hear Him say, "Well done my good and faithful servant!"
When we meet face to face again.

My sister Pat Lynn wrote this beautiful poem
when my granddaughter Ta-Tanisha was born...

Age 5 months

DEAR JESUS

We thank you this day,
For bringing a baby into our family to stay
Until you come back, we'll do our best
And try to teach her, like all the rest

And people might think that she does not understand
But I know, I held her in my hand
She looked, she listened, she squirmed, and she frowned
But she knew her mother was always around

She heard her voice, and her head she did turn
To see where her mother was, without any concern
So if she can tell her mother's voice
Who's to say that we can't teach her this day

About the Lord Jesus Christ, who came to save
Just say Ta-Tanisha Jesus loves you
Ta- Tanisha, Turk, Myra, & Boo
James, Juin, & Tanya too
We have to try and do our best, to stay close to Jesus

And not go astray, because of a new baby, or a car too
We have to put Jesus first, and I too have a lot of learning, and growing up to do
And all the things we have, Jesus gave it to us, and we should put him first
Thank God for our new edition, and our new car too

Thank God for my sisters, and brothers
Nieces, and nephews together forever
And may we all see each other in heaven
Praise the Lord!

~Pat Lynn July 15th 1994

Ta-Tanisha memorized Psalm 100 when she was just 4 years old and said it for us at bible study one Sunday morning, and her teacher also asked her to recite it as the opening prayer at a fashion show sponsored by her day care center in which she participated at age 4. This was one of the outfits that she modeled in the fashion show below. She stole the show by the way. I am not saying this just because she is my grandaughter...She really did! We have video of the show to prove it...lol

My sister Pat wrote this poem on the spur of the moment. Ta-Ta was still reciting Psalm 100 for us when my sister started penning this poem below which she called...

"TA-TANISHA"

Ta-Tanisha did Psalm 100 you see.
She did it very good for you and me.

Ta-Tanisha we are all very proud of you.
Next week maybe you can do Psalm 102.

Keep up the good work and say your prayers.
Always stay on the straight path and remember.

This is what God would have you to do.
And he will always be there for you.

PRAISE THE LORD !

By Pat Lynn

We thank God for Ta-Ta and for the wonderful memory that God has graced her with. We thank God for the gift of writing poetry that he has blessed my sister with.

Ta-Tanisha is 5 years old in the photo below.

Ta-Tanisha is 14 years old in this picture in July 2008.

This is her 8th grade graduation picture. She graduated with first honors. She won the 8th grade math award, and also a service award. She also won a $1,000 scholarship award for an essay that she wrote. She was one of only two people in her 8th grade class who won the scholarship essay award. We are very happy and very proud of Ta-Ta and pray that God will continue to bless her in all things in his will and to His glory!

Happy 14th Birthday Ta-Tanisha

Love Granny!

My Sister Pat wrote this poem for me on my birthday,
and sent it to me in my e-mail as a surprise.
So I would like to share it with you.
Thank you so much for the beautiful poem Pat. I love you very much too!

This is to my sister Nita you see,
She means so very much to me

Today she is one day older you see,
God gave her this day so that she could be

A messenger to spread his word,
To tell the world and to be heard

To let people know about God up above,
And to tell them of his wonderful love.

Your Sis Pat Lynn

"EVERLASTING HAPPINESS"!

AS I SIT I LOOK UP HIGH
AT THE PEACEFULNESS OF THE SKY
I DREAM ABOUT HEAVEN ABOVE
AND ALL THE PEOPLE THAT I LOVE

HERE BELOW CAN'T BE COMPARED
TO THE HOME MY SAVIOUR HAS PREPARED
THERE'S NO MORE ILLNESS, PAIN OR SORROW
AND NO MORE WORRYING ABOUT TOMORROW

WHERE EVERYDAY HIS LIGHT WILL SHINE
WITH GOODNESS, MERCY AND JOY DIVINE
WHEN THOSE PEARLY GATES OPEN WIDE
AND LET ME IN TO ABIDE

I'LL LOOK UPON HIS THRONE OF GRACE
BLESSEDLY WHEN I SEE HIS FACE!

Thank you to Ron DeMarco, for sharing your poem "Dreams" with me, and also for allowing me to put your poem "Heaven's Grocery Store" in my corner as well. It is right below this one.

"Dreams"

I've dreamed many dreams that never came true,
I've seen them vanish at dawn,
But I've realized enough of my dreams thank the Lord,
To make me want to dream on.

I've prayed many prayers when no answer came,
Though I've waited patient and long,
But answers have come to enough of my prayers,
To make me keep praying on.

I've trusted many a friend that failed,
And left me to weep alone,
But I've found enough of my friends that are really true,
That will make me keep trusting on.

I've sown many seeds that have fallen by the way,
For the birds to feed upon,
But I've held enough golden sheaves in my hand,
To make me keep sowing on.

I've drunk from the cup of disappointment and pain,
I've gone many days without song,
But I've sipped enough nectar from the Roses of Life,
To make me keep living on!

"HEAVENS GROCERY STORE"

I was walking down life's highway a long time ago.
One day I saw a sign that read, "Heaven's Grocery Store".
As I got a little closer the door came open wide,
And when I came to myself I was standing inside.
I saw a host of Angels, they were standing everywhere.
One handed me a blanket and said, "My Child shop with care".
Everything a Christian needs is in that grocery store,
And all you can't carry, come back the next day for more.

First, I got some Patience, Love was in the same row.
Further down was Understanding, needed everywhere you go.
I got a box or two of Wisdom, a bag or two of Faith,
I just couldn't miss the Holy Ghost, it was all over the place.
I stopped to get some Strength and Courage to help me run this race,
But then my blanket was getting full, and I remembered I needed Grace.

I didn't forget Salvation, which like the others was free,
So I tried to get enough of that to save both you and me.
Then I started to the counter to pay my grocery bill,
For I thought I had everything to do my master's will.
As I went up the aisle, I saw Prayer and had to put it in,
For I knew when I stepped outside, I would run right into sin.
Peace and Joy were plentiful, they were on the last shelf.
Song and Praises were hanging near, so I just helped myself.

Then I said to the Angel, "How much do I owe"?
The Angel smiled and said, "Just take them everywhere you go."
Again, I politely asked "How much do I really owe?"
The Angel smiled again and said,
"My Child, Jesus Paid Your Bill A Long Time Ago."

"LET GO AND LET GOD!" ~!

As Children Bring Their Broken Toys
With Tears For Us To Mend

I Brought My Broken Dreams To God,
Because He Is My Friend

But Then Instead Of Leaving Him
In Peace To Work Alone,

I Hung Around And Tried To Help,
With Ways That Were My Own

At Last, I Snatched Them Back Again
And Cried, "How Can You Be So Slow?"

"My Child" He Said, "What Could I Do?
You Never Did Let Go!"

"T'WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE JESUS CAME"

T'was the night before Jesus came, and all through the house,
Not a creature was praying, not one in the house.

Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care
In hopes that Jesus would not come there.

The children were dressing to crawl into bed,
Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.

And mom in the rocker, with the baby on her lap,
Was watching the late show, while I took a nap.

When out of the east there arose such a clatter!
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter!

Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters, and threw up the sash,

When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here!

With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray,
I knew in a moment this must be "The Day"!

The light off his face made me cover my head,
It was Jesus returning just like he said.

And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw him in spite of myself.

In the book of life which he held in his hand,
Was written the name of every saved man.

He spoke not a word, as he searched for my name,
When he said" it's not here" my head hung in shame.

The people whose names had been written with love,
He gathered to take to his father above.

With those that were ready, he rose without a sound,
While all of the rest were left standing around.

I fell to my knees, but it was too late,
I had waited too long, and thus sealed my fate.

I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight,
Oh! if only we had been ready tonight.

In the words of this poem, the meaning is clear,
The coming of Jesus is drawing near.

There's only one life, and when comes the last call,
We'll find that the Bible was true after all.

This poem "God Calling Yet" is actually a hymn, and while I was reading the lyrics, the words really touched my soul. I read it at one of our bible studies, because I didn't know the tune to sing it. Everyone thought the words were so beautiful too, so I have put it in my poetry corner to enlighten, and enrich, that others may ponder on the words also, and may God bless you.

"GOD CALLING YET"

God calling yet! shall I not hear?
Earth's pleasures shall I still hold dear?
Shall life's swift passing years all fly,
And still my soul in slumber lie?

God calling yet! shall I not rise?
Can I his loving voice dispise?
And basely his kind care repay?
He calls me still;can I delay?

God calling yet! and shall he knock?
And I my heart the closer lock?
He still is waiting to receive
And shall I dare his spirit grieve?

God calling yet! and shall I give no heed?
But still in bondage live?
I wait but he does not forsake;
He calls me still; My heart awake!

God calling yet! I cannot stay;
My heart I yield without delay
Vain world farewell, from thee I part;
The voice of God hath reached my heart.

"LET THE CHILDREN BE"

Let the children be,
They don't bother me,
That's the way some people think today.
Children have too much to say!

No respect for older people you see,
No respect for you or me.
No respect for themselves
And the sad part about it,

Is they don't see.
What they are doing, to you and me.
They can't comprehend all the pain,
The suffering, the sin.

They think you are trying to keep them down,
When you say that's not the crowd,
You should be around!
They think you are being old fashioned

When you say, If my parents were here today.
They would not put up with this mess,
I must say!
Children say, we are living in the ninties!

Can't you see?
Things are different than they used to be.
Yes they are different I must say,
But are they for the better today?

I don't think so you see,
But God knew that this would be:
The way of the world!

"THE WAY I WAS"

I was living to die, instead of dieing to live.
I was crying inside, instead of crying aloud.
I was one of those who were stubborn and proud!
I was a little child inside, but a woman without.

I tried my best to get along with people round about.
I was always trying to please people to get along.
But something was very, very, wrong.
I was always unhappy, and wondering why?

Why I had to feel so sad inside.
Then it hit me, a thought came to my mind,
I was trying to be too kind,
Instead of living to die.

I should have been dying to live, for Jesus!
Instead of crying inside.
I should have been crying for Jesus!
Instead of being stubborn and proud,

I should have been humble and meek,
You know fear puts you in a corner,
And leaves you there.
It makes you feel that no one cares!

But if you trust in God, He will see you through,
That dark, dreary, corner fear led you to.
That's the way I was, I am sorry to say,
But I am a different person, thanks to God today!

I AM SAVED

All my life long, I had panted
For a drink from some cool spring
That I hoped would quench the burning
Of the thirst I felt within.

Feeding on the husks around me
Til my strength was almost gone,
Longed my soul for something better,
Only to still hunger on.

Well of water, ever springing
Bread of life, so rich and free,
Untold wealth that never faileth,
My Redeemer is to me.

Hallelujah! I have found him
Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longing:
Through his blood I now am saved.

†"WHEN I SAY I AM A CHRISTIAN"†

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I am saved"
I'm whispering "I was lost!"
That is why God chose this way."

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
And need someone to be my guide.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And pray for strength to carry on.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are too visible
But God believes I'm worth it.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
Which is why I seek His name.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know I'm loved
